Family Owned and operated for more than 80 Years
In 1942, the Glen Beard family moved to Plainview, Texas, the “Panhandle”, and opened the Glen A. Beard Popcorn Company. From 1942 to 1956, the company worked with local farmers growing and processing special hybrids of popcorn. In 1956, the name was changed to Panhandle Popcorn Company and in 1981, the company moved to its current location. The Jim Mock family owned and operated the business from 1987-2019. The family tradition continued when new owners Tullie & Valerie Struve and family, and Leonard & Shelli Lawson and family took the reins.
